Topic: Graphing trouble!

I'm working with:
f(x) = x^(8/9)－x^(17/9); I want a plot for it.
Using Maple16, I got the picture on it.
You can see the graph you get using Graph 4.4
> f(x):=((8)/(9 x^(1/9))-17/9 x^(8/9));
> f(-1.)
2.610257281 - 0.9500559537*i
> f(-2.)
4.060175631 - 1.477783074*i
> f(-3.)
5.452326391 - 1.984484514*i
Could you, please, tell me which is correct?
